Happy Earth Month!!!

This is the month we look forward to all year long. This is when we show the world how we can truly make a difference. Since 1999, Aveda’s global network has raised more than $22 million for organizations that directly affect environmental change, and $16 million for water- related causes alone over the past five years. We seek to raise $4.5 million for awareness and protection of clean water- a basic human right that nearly 900 million people fight for daily.

Not only do we raise money for the global cause of clean water, but we also support local causes. We team with Puget Soundkeeper Alliance which is an organization that fights to keep pollution out of our water. The Puget Sound is in trouble. There is a declining fish population, PCB’s in marine mammals, health warnings about the fish that we purchase and consume, and the list goes on. Puget Soundkeeper Alliance actively patrols and monitors the waters of the Puget Sound and they remain the only organization to do so. How Can You Make a Difference?

You can donate to Puget Soundkeeper Alliance online at our donation page or you can donate in the salon. We even have an incentive for you to look good, feel good, and do good. For each $5.00 you donate in the salon, your name gets entered into our raffle to win a free haircut and color service, $150.00 value! We ask you to please get involved and help us protect our community.

We also support the cause for clean water globally. For a $12 donation you receive a Light The Way candle and 100% of the proceeds from this organic, soy, lavender candle is used to protect the water and build irrigation systems. The drawings on the package were made by the children of the Tilwari India tribe when they were asked what clean water means to them.
